It’s been a huge year for Apple, with new products arriving throughout 2026. March brought the MacBook Neo and iPhone 17e, followed by the new Mac mini and Mac Studio in August.
September delivered another wave of launches at Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” event, including the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, iPhone Duo, Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, and AirPods 5.
Apple turned its attention to the smart home at its “Welcome Home” gathering on October 13, unveiling HomeView, HomePod mini 2, a new Apple TV 4K and the Apple Home Collection. More announcements followed: a new iPad mini on October 26, then a 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac with M6 chips on October 27.
But Apple may not be finished yet. The company has confirmed a “Pro and Tell” media experience in Los Angeles on October 28, where we expect it to unveil its first touchscreen MacBook Pro.
Apple’s next expected announcement is the OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro, potentially today, October 28, alongside its “Pro and Tell” media experience.
Rumours point to 14-inch and 16-inch models, a lighter design, a possible Dynamic Island camera cutout, and M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.
As of September 1, 2026, Apple’s roadmap has come under the direction of CEO John Ternus. Former CEO Tim Cook has moved into the executive chairman role. The shift from an operations-focused leader to one with deep hardware engineering roots could signal a more product-driven approach – and a renewed emphasis on standout hardware.

And… RIP Mac Pro: Apple has confirmed that it is discontinuing its tower workstation.
Read on to find out what new products to expect at Apple’s next event and throughout 2026.
In the sections below we’ve split the upcoming new products into categories including Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, Home, AirPods, and some new product categories.
Don’t expect major redesigns for the iPads. Instead, Apple is likely to focus on faster chips and other internal upgrades. That said, the iPad is due an update – particularly as it lacks support for Apple Intelligence. Here’s what we expect Apple to announce:

When Apple updated the standard iPad in March 2025, the biggest disappointment was its A16 chip, which doesn’t support Apple Intelligence. The next model is expected to address that with an A18 or A19 chip, bringing Apple’s AI features to its entry-level tablet.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously predicted a 2026 launch but now expects the new iPad in the first quarter of 2027 at the earliest. Read more in our new iPad rumor roundup.

With the iPad prices increasing in June 2026, you may want to hold off buying one now. If you are going to pay more at least get the most up-to-date model, or buy from Apple’s Refurbished Store to get a bargain. Read Should I buy an iPad now or wait?
2026 was a significant year for the Mac, with Apple’s first touchscreen Mac rumored as part of a MacBook Pro redesign. March 3 saw the launch of the M5 MacBook Air and M5 Pro/M5 Max MacBook Pro and March 4 saw Apple introduce a new entry-level laptop – the $599 MacBook Neo.
The long expected Mac Studio and Mac mini updates came in August 2026 and went on sale September 22, although some high-memory Mac Studio configurations won’t arrive until later. These Macs have become popular for running AI models locally; however, global RAM shortages – driven by AI companies purchasing large amounts of memory for data centres – have been having a knock-on effect on availability during 2026 and these RAM shortages have also had an effect on prices, with Mac prices increasing by $300 to $500 in June and in the case of the Mac mini, by a further $100 with the 2026 launch. Then the iMac and MacBook Pro were updated with the M6 chip in October.
One Mac that won’t be getting an update is the long-neglected Mac Pro. Apple has confirmed that the Mac Pro will be discontinued in favor of the Mac Studio.

Apple’s redesigned MacBook Pro is expected to feature an OLED touchscreen and a substantially lighter body. However, Mark Gurman has played down earlier suggestions that it will be significantly thinner. Reports point to the use of M5 Pro and M5 Max processors to enable Apple to keep the project on schedule.

According to a brief update in Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter for Bloomberg in August, Apple is aiming to launch camera-equipped AirPods.
The new earbuds are expected to resemble the AirPods Pro 3, although it’s not yet clear whether they will also include a heart rate sensor.
The cameras are said to include both visible-light and infrared sensors, but they reportedly won’t be designed for taking photos or recording video, as their placement and image quality would make them unsuitable for those tasks. Instead, the cameras are expected to enable AI-powered features, such as hand gesture recognition, adapting audio based on the surrounding environment, and detecting whether someone is speaking directly to you or simply talking nearby.
Apple released iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 and its other major updates in September 2026, introducing Siri AI, expanded Apple Intelligence features, new parental controls and app improvements. Further point updates will bring additional features, refinements and bug fixes.
Siri AI brings more natural conversations, personal-context and onscreen awareness, and more actions across apps. Availability depends on device, language and region, and some users may need to join a waiting list.
October’s 27.2 updates added French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish alongside English. Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese are due by year-end. In the EU, Siri AI is available on macOS but remains unavailable on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS.

Based on current industry analysis and supply chain information, Apple has some significant changes planned for the iPhone in 2027, with a 20th anniversary iPhone rumored as well as the iPhone 18, 18e and iPhone Air 2.
Reports suggest that Apple could delay the iPhone 18 and release that handset alongside the iPhone 18e in the spring of 2027.
The iPhone Air could also be getting an update. But there are rumors that it will actually merge with the iPhone 18. See our iPhone Air 2 rumors.

With the iPhone 18 launch not expected until the spring, now is a good time to buy an iPhone 17. Read: When is the best time to buy an iPhone.
However, prices have already risen across the board, so it is no longer possible to beat the price hikes unless you find a refurbished iPhone.
In October 2026 Apple announced a major expansion of its smart-home lineup with the launch of the HomeView, HomePod mini 2, a new Apple TV 4K and the Apple Home Collection at its “Welcome Home” experience. We are still waiting for the update to the larger HomePod, with hope that could arrive in 2027.
Apple has also been linked with a more advanced HomePod featuring a built-in display. This is sometimes referred to in reports as the HomePod Touch, although that is not an official Apple name.
Unlike the HomeView, which primarily functions as a standalone smart-home hub, this device is expected to combine a traditional HomePod speaker with a touchscreen display.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple is developing a higher-end HomeView, codenamed J595, with a 9-inch display mounted on a motorized arm. The screen could rotate through 360 degrees and automatically turn toward whoever is speaking.
This would be a separate, more advanced model than the 7-inch HomeView announced in October 2026. Apple has not announced the device, and “HomeView Max” and “HomeView Ultra” remain speculative names. Read more about the HomeView Ultra here: ‘HomeView Ultra’ with robot arm may be coming next year
Unlike the bulky Vision Pro headset, the upcoming smart glasses from Apple are expected to follow a form factor similar to the Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Said to be built specifically for “Visual Intelligence.” It will likely handle tasks such as live translations, music playback, phone calls, and turn-by-turn directions. Apple could provide a first glimpse or “preview” of the glasses by the end of 2026.
Prior to 2026, Apple’s spatial computing strategy has focused on the high-end market, but reports indicate a more affordable version of the headset is in development. Apple has reportedly paused work on a successor to the high-end Vision Pro and will instead release a cheaper Vision Pro.
